St. Joseph’s National School – Mission Statement

St. Joseph’s National School is a Catholic primary school that strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure environment where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of all pupils are recognised and nurtured.

As partners in the educational process, management, staff and parents work together to encourage the development of positive behaviour and self-esteem. We aim to foster in our pupils a deep respect for people, property and for our school community.

While St. Joseph’s National School is founded on a Catholic ethos, we also recognise and respect all other religions and traditions.

We promote both the professional and personal development of our dedicated team of teachers and Special Needs Assistants through ongoing staff development programmes.

We value and encourage the involvement of parents through regular home–school communication and through their participation in the Parents’ Association.

We endeavour to instil in our pupils a pride in and love for the rich traditions of Irish culture and language. Déanaimid ár ndícheall Gaeilge a labhairt.

Our school motto reflects our belief in the potential of every child:

“Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí.” (Praise the young and they will flourish.)
